Friday, Margaret and I tried to find our missing ancestors. We are in
need of divine help for these ones.
For dinner we had whale meat, mashed potatoes, broccoli, cauli and
salad. I was dubious about the whale meat. It looked very much like
beef when cooked but had a milder taste and was very lean. Evidently
it is only sold in fish shops.
Following dinner we headed back nearly to Oslo. Several of their
family had birthdays within a couple of weeks so these were being
celebrated together by having dessert. There was pavlova on the
table! I wished I had recorded them singing the happy birthday song.
It was nothing like our plain old “happy birthday”. It was a
really lovely song.

Saturday we went to the local shopping mall. Expensive. Then after
lunch we went out on their fishing boat in the harbour. I did hold a
fishing rod for a wee while. No fish wanted to get on the line so I
put it away. Back home for another home cooked meal.
