COPENHAGEN

I arrived at 11am at the Copenhagen Central Train Station.and could not enter my lodgings until 3pm.

I walked slowly through the shopping streets. On my way there was a Christmas parade. What fun!

My instructions from NΓΈrreport station (another train after I got to Central station) were to head towards the lakes. I couldnt see any sign and thought going left looked right. After walking quite a distance I realised something was not right.

Luckily a young lady was able to look at the map I had and show me where I was. That meant walking back to the station pushing and pulling my suitcases and then walking down the street straight ahead from the station. Because I had gone the wrong way I had used up more time and it was now gone 3pm. Mette's boyfriend should be there to let me in.

Finally found the building. After walking up 3 flights of stairs with 2 suitcases I finally could knock on the door.

Building where I stayed in Copenhagen

Six times these stairs with two suitcases

I knocked again and again until finally an Asian man came to the door. He said he was renting a room there. He let me in and we could see the room that I should have. There was a key on the table and wifi instructions. The room was quite clean and tidy.

The bathroom, kitchen and toilet were disgusting. Forget having a shower. Just had sponge washes while I stayed there and no hair wash. I stayed 2 nights and 3 days and did not see the hosts at all. Interesting how they said it was a pleasure having me stay with them in their review on the airbnb site

There are a lot of streets intertwined around the city with every shop imaginable. My favourites were Ilum Borghuis and Magasin. I bought a few gifts and some shoes for me.

As the shops do not open until 10am I left early one morning while the streets were still quiet and went to the Church of Our Lady. There I could see the original statue of the Christus and the 12 apostles. Rather awesome. It was very peaceful there.

The next day I walked to see the Little Mermaid statue. Walked about an hour and a half each way to see her. She is so little. There were so many tourists around too.
